Randalstown motorist banned from driving for two weeks

A RANDALSTOWN motorist with nine penalty points already on his licence who was detected at over 90mph in a 70mph zone on the Lisnevenagh Road between Antrim and Ballymena has been banned from driving for two weeks and fined £500.

Tom Ashman (44), of Castle Avenue, was spotted by police on October 16 this year.

A defence barrister said the defendant is a "very successful businessman", employing over 30 people in a software company.

Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, heard the defendant had been "late" for a meeting.
