Shoplifter stole items including Lego from Sainsbury's

A MAN has admitted stealing Lego, shoes and a Thermos Flask - with a total value of £74 - from Sainsbury's in Ballymena.

Shaun William Leitch (35), of Trostan Avenue, Ballymena, also admitted attempting to steal two frozen pizzas worth £10 from the supermarket.

He also admitted possessing Diazepam and cannabis on various dates.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said the defendant is "co-operating with his key worker" at a Simon Community hostel.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the cases were adjourned to October 28 for a pre-sentence report.
