A JUDGE at Antrim Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena, on Tuesday told a defence solicitor who was appearing via a video link he would need to speak up as "I can't hear you because of the rain on the roof ".
A court clerk added: "We can't hear you because there is a thunderstorm here".
However, District Judge Nigel Broderick's court was able to continue during the heavy shower.
The solicitor remarked it was "actually very sunny" in the North West, where he is based.
When it rains heavily the deafening din on the glass roof of the court in Ballymena often causes acoustics issues.
