Uninsured motorist in County Antrim wanted to get 'fresh meat' home quickly during heatwave

A MAN wanting to get "fresh meat" home during the July heatwave this year took his friend's vehicle to make the journey but was detected without insurance in Cullybackey, defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine told Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Veaceslav Buzgan (33), of Tobar Park in Cullybackey, had driven around a "quarter of a mile" after buying the meat, the defence solicitor said.

The defendant was given six penalty points and fined £250.
