AN 18-year-old woman has been charged with a number of burglaries in Ballymena when items allegedly taken included flags.

Chelsea Marrs, of Dunminning Road, Glarryford, is accused of stealing a mobile phone, knives and cash on December 13 last year at Kinhilt Street.

She is further charged with stealing clothing, bank cards, watches and flags from Brooke Park on December 22 and a PlayStation 4 and cash from Casement Street on December 27.

She is also accused of possessing cannabis on January 24, 2022.

The defendant appeared via video link at Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena on Tuesday January 25.

A police officer said he believed he could connect the defendant to the charges.

He said another suspect was arrested.

That was a reference to a 20-year-old man.

Marrs was released on £500 bail to Dunminning Road with a 9pm-7am curfew. She is to have no contact with witnesses or the other suspect.

There is, Court News NI can report, also an alcohol ban.
