Woman (55) with Ballymena address is accused of string of shoplifting incidents in Larne, Coleraine and Ballymoney


A 55-year-old woman with a Ballymena address who is accused of a string of shoplifting incidents has been given continuing bail ahead of the case being mentioned at Antrim Crown Court on May 20.

Deirdre Ann McKeown, of Galgorm Road, is charged with offences in November, 2019.

She is alleged to have stolen goods from B&M in Larne; clothing from Dunnes in Coleraine; 'bubble wrap and confectionary' from Poundland in Coleraine; Lego worth £68 and a £22 jumper from Moores in Coleraine; groceries from SuperValu in Ballymoney and toys and six bottles of sun cream from Home Bargains in Ballymoney.

A defence lawyer told Ballymena Magistrates Court: "There is a big background to these charges. This lady was under investigation for almost a year".
