Woman accused of stealing chickens from poultry house in County Antrim has case further adjourned

A WOMAN who is accused of the burglary of a poultry house at Ballymacvea Road between Antrim town and Ballymena on July 13 this year when chickens were allegedly stolen has had the case further adjourned to October 21.

The defendant is Tuesday Sophia Dickson (34), of Wesley Street, Lisburn.

Defence barrister Ben Thompson told Ballymena Magistrates Court that when the case papers were examined there were "evidential deficiencies in the case against her".

He said the defence team would like to see "social media research" which he claimed was "relied upon by the prosecution".

The barrister added: "That is the purported basis on which the defendant, the prosecution would infer, has been identified".

A prosecutor said: "That footage is available to be posted to the defence".
