Woman fined over 'fermented sausage' which made neighbour's dog sick during harassment incident

A DOG was sick after eating a "green-coloured fermented sausage" which was thrown into a garden by a neighbour who has admitted a charge of harassment.

Elizabeth Cherry (66), a retired nurse, of Killynure Road, Carryduff, admitted harassment in relation to March to May last year.

Details about the sausage were outlined by a prosecutor at Newtownards Magistrates Court.

A defence lawyer, Court News NI an report, said there had been a "short period of a very acrimonious neighbour dispute" but said they are still neighbours and there has been "nothing since".

The court heard the defendant was previously dealt with at court for harassment.

District Judge Mark Hamill said a conditional discharge had been given last September but for the latest offence he was handing down a £300 fine.

He warned the defendant: "If you come back before me for a third harassment, talk to your Counsel and he will fill in the blanks".
