Woman was disorderly at Ballymena Train Station

AN Antrim town woman has admitted being disorderly at Ballymena Train Station.

Heather McKeown (57), of Meadowlands, also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer on May 7 this year.

The defendant appeared via video link from Hydebank Prison at Ballymena Magistrates' Court which heard she is due to be released in July in connection with a prison sentence for another matter.

A defence lawyer said the train station incident happened whilst McKeown had been on bail pending appeal.

The lawyer said McKeown committed the offences when she got off a train.

He said she has alcohol issues.

The Ballymena case has been adjourned to July 28 for a pre-sentence report.
